About the Role

Total Wine & More is seeking an Associate Buyer, THC Beverages to join our Merchandising team in Bethesda, MD. In this role, you will support the THC canned beverage category, assisting with new item setup, supplier coordination, reporting, and promotional execution. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure timely launches, accurate product data, and smooth day-to-day operations. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in an emerging category while learning the fundamentals of buying, compliance, and merchandising. You will report to the Director, THC Beverages 

You will

  • Support the full item lifecycle, including new item setup, compliance documentation, and ongoing maintenance, with a strong focus on regulatory requirements and operational accuracy.
  • Partner with suppliers to collect product data, samples, and promotional details; ensure timely follow-up and communication.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Legal, Marketing, and Store Operations to support product launches and category programs.
  • Assist in monitoring sales, margin, and inventory data; prepare and distribute reports to support decision-making.
  • Help track promotional activity and merchandising execution across assigned THC products.
  • Manage administrative tasks including vendor meeting preparation, sample coordination, and file maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of best practices within the THC beverage team.
  • Gain exposure to supplier management and category strategy by supporting senior team members on projects and business reviews.

You will come with

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in retail buying, merchandising, or a related role; beverage alcohol or cannabis/THC category exposure a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Looker) a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and with external suppliers.
  • Interest in the beverage industry and motivation to learn category management fundamentals.

Pay Range: $70,470-$114,400 Annually
