About the Role

Total Wine & More is seeking an Email Developer to join our Marketing team in our Bethesda, MD office. You will focus on executing email marketing campaigns with heavy emphasis on HTML coding, customer segmentation, and technical execution.  This is a technical email development role focused on hand-coding responsive and accessible HTML emails. We do not use WYSIWYG editors. Instead, you will work directly with HTML/CSS, ensuring compatibility across email clients and devices. Candidates should be comfortable writing clean, table-based HTML, using inline styles, and troubleshooting rendering issues in platforms like Outlook and Gmail.

You will work with cross-functional partners across marketing, supporting important business goals for the entire organization. You will report to the Manager of Email Marketing.   

You will

  • Set-up and code email templates in HTML using Salesforce Marketing Cloud  
  • Set up, test, and launch complex email campaigns with personalization
  • Set up email audience targeting, and integrate content to personalize user experiences  
  • Collaborate with designers and marketers to ensure email execution aligns with brand standards and strategic needs  
  • Collaborate with other email developers and internal stakeholders to review email tests, following established processes for QA and approval  
  • Troubleshoot HTML, CSS, and other performance issues  

You will come with 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, OR 1-2 years’ experience with HTML email marketing execution  
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and project management skills  
  • A strong interest in delivering detail-oriented work  
  • Relevant email development work experience  
  • Experience designing HTML emails  
  • Strong technical coding skills  
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, SQL and AMPscript is a plus  
  • Communication and collaboration skills  
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity and troubleshoot

Pay Range:

$70,470.00 – $114,400.00
